On April 19th, just one day after the historic amount of rains that flooded and paralyzed most of the Houston area, Vicky went in for a regular pregnancy checkup, her husband and son were with her. During the examination, Vicky's water broke and suddenly she was in labor! It was now time to head to the hospital to deliver the baby. They barely even had time to get their toddler to his aunt, but there was no time to go home and pickup their stuff. Traveling as quickly as they could on the flooded roads, they finally made it to the hospital. Not long after, at 6:26pm they welcomed their second child, a precious baby girl who they named Lauren Elizabeth. They were now a family of four! Baby Lauren weighed 8lbs 5oz, measured 21 inches long. She was absolutely perfect and even more beautiful than they had imagined. The next day, I was invited to the hospital room to meet baby Lauren and photograph her Fresh 48 newborn session. It was then that I heard her amazing birth story. I love the intimacy of Fresh Newborn Sessions. I get to witness many wonderful first moments like daddy changing a diaper for the first time or mommy breastfeeding her brand new blessing. I get to see older siblings meet their new baby and grandparents welcome their new grandchild too. Sometimes I even get to photograph the newborn baby's homecoming. Other times I simply capture the interaction between the new parents and their baby as they bond.
