It's been quite sometime since I made an entry, not because there's nothing new to share but just because I've been enjoying summer with my wild bunch. I have been working on a personal project to document us. This is part one of a monthly series of short films featuring our family. I hope to keep this project going each month for the rest of the year as a keepsake of the everyday moments that make life with my brood so sweet.
I filmed this on my Canon 6DMKii with a 35mm lens, just before putting baby Declan down for his nap. I know that one day not far from now, I will be putting him down for his nap for the last time. One day, he will outgrow my lap. One day, that little hand will reach out for someone else who will have his heart. And because motherhood is full of one days and last times, I've turned to video to capture these precious and fleeting moments. While photography will forever have my heart, there's something so special and meaningful about capturing life in motion.
Want your own life captured on video too? You can read my tips to help you get started or book a short lifestyle film with me, now available to add to any portrait session.

Hello world, meet baby Ezias. It’s crazy to think that it’s been a month since I photographed this little guy and it finally dawned on me that I never did share these images from his newborn session on the blog. Baby Ezias simply could not wait to get to know his mommy and daddy in person, so he made his arrival on earth just a tiny bit earlier than expected. I was excited to welcome this sweet couple into my studio for the second time; who drove all the way from Sugarland - south of Houston - with baby in tow for their photoshoot. We opted for a simple newborn session, focusing on natural poses that captured the bond and connection between the first time parents and their fresh-from-the-womb, bundle of joy. This newly formed family of three could not be anymore picture perfect. It was my absolute joy to be their newborn photographer!
My 2018 calendar is now open for reservations and I am currently booking newborn sessions for babies due in January, February, and March. I would love the opportunity to be your newborn photographer and capture your baby's story through my photographs. Please complete the contact form under the inquire tab or click here to reserve a session. Pricing details can be found under the Pricing & Info tab at the top of the menu.
"Somewhere over the rainbow
It has been two months since we welcomed our baby boy. They have been the most incredible two months, filled with unlimited cuddles and that wonderful new baby smell. Sure, there's the crying, the never ending diaper changes, and sleepless nights; but all that stuff is overshadowed by the amount of happiness that fills our lives. The love within the walls of our home has grown exponentially with the arrival of this new little blessing.
Newborn babies have a special way to bring joy to their family, but even more so when that child is a Rainbow Baby. It's not that this child becomes the favorite, because as parents we could never pick one of our children over another. But the birth of a Rainbow Baby brings about SO MUCH HEALING. Not just for mom and dad, but for the entire family, including the older siblings who experience heartache too. It's a renewed joy, one that at one point I thought I might never feel again, but by some incredible miracle was granted.
Our little Rainbow is our family's perfect gift, hand picked for earth by his sibling in heaven. He has brought with him the power to erase the hurt, while also keeping the memory of the little one before him alive. He has been a constant remider that Jordan -the name we picked for our angel in heaven- existed, was wished for, is loved, and is not forgotten. He has truly been the calm after the storm. He is my living proof that a Mother's prayers are always answered, in due time.
