As a maternity photographer, one of the most frequent requests I receive is for the dreamy maternity milk bath. I am proud to say that I am one of the few photographers in Houston specializing in milk bath sessions for expecting mamas. A milk bath sessions is different from a traditional maternity session because it is not posed at all. Instead, I focus on capturing mama simply enjoying herself in a warm bath as she radiates that beautiful pregnancy glow and her love for her unborn baby. In order to achieve the perfect milk bath session, I first aim to create the perfect mood for expecting moms to look and feel beautiful. It all starts with me filling the tub with a mix of warm bathwater and protein-rich powder milk, which gently exfoliates your skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple. Organic florals are then added into the tub to create that dreamy, ethereal look. Access to my collection of maternity dresses and accessories from my studio wardrobe is included, leaving one less thing for you to stress over. Milk bath sessions are done in the comfort of your own home. When I arrive, I will setup a soothing environment, ideal for your milk bath session. Relaxing music will be played, while my favorite essential oil blend for aroma therapy is diffused to help you settle into a comfortable mood. Don't have a tub at home? We can do the session at a friend's or family member's home too. I'll take care of the setup and clean up for a stress free maternity session. I'd love the opportunity to photograph the excitement and love that you already feel for your unborn baby in a beautiful and unique way. As always, sessions are all-inclusive, with digital images already part of the package. The option to customize your portrait collection by adding prints, albums, and other photo keepsakes is also available.
I had the opportunity of photographing Shauna in her home toward the end of her pregnancy. She was absolutely glowing as she awaited the arrival of her first baby. Shauna is a certified fitness trainer, dietitian, dancer, blogger, wife, and now mom. And I swear, she could add supermodel to her many roles. In-home maternity sessions, like this one, are perfect for mamas who make the decision to have maternity portraits done late into their pregnancy, even as late as two weeks before the due date. Because these type of sessions are photographed indoors, they can take place at any time during daylight hours. Allowing for more flexibility versus outdoor sessions, which are only done right before sunset. Being able to stay home while I do the traveling, is easier on the mama to be. Use of my maternity wardrobe is included, which means mom can do her make up and hair, and then just hang out in her pajamas until I arrive. There are no special requirements for in-home sessions. A little corner of a well lit room with solid walls is enough. Baby’s nursery makes a perfect backdrop too. Please inquire to book a maternity session in the comfort of your own home, or for more information. Sessions available throughout the entire greater Houston area, travel fees apply.
Yesterday I photographed the most amazing mama to be and I simply could not wait to share a few images from her photoshoot. I am in love with every single frame from her milk bath maternity session. It was so hard to pick just a few favorite images to share. When Ana contacted me to book her maternity session, I knew it would result in portraits that would portray motherhood as it is, real, honest, and beautifully unfiltered. Ana is a Houston based speaker, writer, and model on a mission to help women love themselves and their bodies. Although I was the photographer and not the subject, this photoshoot was an incredibly empowering experience for me. Having recently delivered my fourth baby, I must admit I had been worried about getting my "pre-baby body" back. Yesterday's shoot with Ana helped me to refocus my energy toward loving my body for the amazing job it has done in birthing four little humans beautifuilly. I had no idea going in, that I would leave this shoot having a deeper appreciation for my perfectly imperfect self. As you can see, none of the images from this session are airbrushed or retouched. My hopes in sharing these photographs is that other mothers who come across them may feel inspired by them and that they may allow themselves to see the physical beauty in their own bodies. I'd like to invite you to read Ana's body positive blog HERE. More images from this session coming soon.
